The present that I received for Christmas that was my favourite present was a new toothbrush.
I know, I know, I know. Toothbrushes aren’t that exciting in general. To me? It meant a heck of a lot. First, experiencing Electric Toothbrushes when you’ve only ever used disposable toothbrushes is life-changing. Second, though, it was the thought that went into the gift.
Knowing that I wanted to spend time travelling this year, they went out of their way to ensure that the toothbrush they got me was small/compact and easy to travel with, as well as, that it was rechargeable. This toothbrush that I was given can be charged by USB. This means that the same plug that I carry for charging my electronics, can now charge my toothbrush. I don’t have to worry about batteries. I don’t have to worry about extra cords. THENNNNNNNN, it also comes with a case to keep the bristles protected.
Most importantly, having an electric toothbrush, in a weird way, makes me feel like I’m treating myself. It makes me feel like I’ve splurged on something expensive, so my pearly whites stay pearly and white. It makes me feel, dare I say, bougie… (oof, I despise that word)
Someone bought me a toothbrush for Christmas, and it was truly the kindest, most thoughtful thing. I’m sharing because I think it’s important to note that the thought is really what matters about gifts. It’s always the thought that counts.
(I got the black one. When I need to buy new heads, I’m going to buy various colours because you can mix and match and I think that’s real, real cute. I think the black toothbrush with the peach coloured brush heads would look nice. Peak adulting.)
